Dumpster Guard
Until now, there hasn't been any way to contain the grease spillage and filth that accumulates under and around the grease dumpsters used by restaurants. In the past, this mess has been considered to be only an aesthetic and maintenance related problem. However, with the full implementation of the Clean Water Act that occurred in March of 2003, the prevention of grease spillage onto the ground and into storm sewers is now a matter of compliance with federal EPA regulations. Power washing the areas around the dumpsters is not the answer, and will almost undoubtedly lead to violations of these laws, as elaborate measures must now be taken to filter, collect, and dispose of properly any waste water that contains more than .05 microns of contaminants. This includes any standing water. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in significant fines for the restaurant owner or the property owner if the restaurant is renting. The Lane Guard pavement protection system traps and contains any grease that leaks or spills from restaurant grease dumpsters in its easily replaceable filter pad, thus eliminating environmental related risks and the need to power wash the area. The installation of the Lane Guard system protects the restaurant from EPA violations, and at the same time prevents pavement damage and provides a clean, safe, and visually pleasing environment for the restaurant employees and customers.
